SANSOM, Anne Elizabeth, 95, of Hopewell, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Riverview on the Appomattox. She was born in Phillips, Wisconsin to Phillip and Victoria Kubus Solecki. She was predeceased by her husband, Hassel R. Sansom; her sister, Millie Dorish; and two brothers, Leo and Emanuel Solecki. Surviving are her daughter, Dyanne Mihalcoe and husband, Miron; a son, Raymond R. Sansom and wife, Kathy; two sisters, Mary Kurdziel and Betty Starke; four grandchildren, Miron "Mickey" Mihalcoe Jr., Teresa Fields, Kimberly Greiner, Christopher Scott Sansom; great-grandchildren, Crystal Fields, Benjamin and Lauryn Greiner. Mrs. Sansom was a volunteer at The Shepard's Place and volunteered for over 20 years at John Randolph Medical Center with the Teddy Bear Program. A vigil service will be held Friday, November 6, 2009 at 7 p.m. in St. James Catholic Church, with visitation to follow. A Mass of Christian Resurrection will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009 in St. James Catholic Church at 10 a.m., with Father Frank Wiggins officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Theresa Cemetery, West Point, Va., at 12:30 p.m. Contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church Roof Fund, 102 N. 5th Ave., Hopewell, Va.. 23860.
