Stanley Sansom Obituary

COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Stanley Edward Sansom, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on October 30, 1957, in Craighead County, Arkansas, Stan lived a life filled with passion, dedication, and love for those around him.

A proud veteran, he served honorably in the United States Navy, demonstrating his commitment to his country. After his military service, Stan built a successful career in mechanical plumbing, where he applied his skills and expertise to every project with pride and integrity.

Stan was most comfortable working with his hands. He had a broad knowledge of all things mechanical, and what he didn’t know he would research and learn. He serviced his own vehicles, garden and power equipment, as well as enjoying all the tasks undertaken by conscientious homeowners. He loved the shooting sports and reloading, and had an appreciation for quality tools and machinery. His love for motorcycles earlier in his life had been replaced by barbecue …. grilling and smoking meats became one of his pleasures.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Sansom, and her sons, Jason (Jessica) Fleck and Adam (Tiffiny) Fleck, whom he regarded as his own, as well as the grandchildren, Jarod and Jacey.

Also surviving are his sons, Emmanuel, Joshua, and Daniel Sansom; sisters, Yvette Sansom, Michelle, Raymond, Brenda (Don) Alls, and Barbara Gray.

He is also survived by grandchildren, Madison Vaccaro, Michael Sansom, Joshua Sansom Junior, Kayden Sansom, Makayla Reynolds, Payton Sansom, Markus Sansom, Liam Sansom, and Emilia Sansom, and great granddaughter Evye Reynolds.

He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Collins Sansom, and his mother, Molly Stark Gray, both of whom instilled in him the values that would guide him throughout his life. Stan was also preceded by beloved dogs Sky, Rocky, Thor, and many others he had loved over the years.

Stan will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his fierce loyalty to friends and neighbors-including Travis and LaShaun Jones, Kingsley and Callahan Jones, Matt and Ashton Poindexter, and Max and Barrett Poindexter-and for the vibrant personality that left a mark on all who crossed his path.

Stan's wishes for cremation are being honored and a Celebration of Life with family and friends will be held at a later date.

As we reflect on Stan Sansom’s life, we celebrate the love he gave and received, the lessons he taught, and the marvelous legacy he leaves behind. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
