Vickie Lou Franklin Whitehead, 63, of Bloomington Springs, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a Christian and prayed until her last breath.

She was the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Key, James Malcolm Franklin, and stepfather James Palk. Vickie was born on Monday, November 6th, 1961, and was raised in Burgess Falls and then raised her children in Martin's Creek.

She leaves behind a husband of 49 years: Carl Whitehead; 4 children: Rachel (Joseph) Woodard of Silver Point, TN, Dana Garrett (Jonathan Thomas) of Cookeville, TN, Daniel (Casey) Whitehead of Silver Point, TN, and Josh Whitehead of Cookeville, TN; 9 grandchildren: Destiny (Michael) Smith, Kelsey Garrett, Kiley Garrett, Brooklyn (Travis) Meadows, Paisley Whitehead, Daiden Whitehead, Hunter Goss, Bailey Jo Whitehead, and Braden Woodard; brother: Mike Franklin; a beloved sister-in-law: Tausha Franklin; and a dear friend: James Anderson.

Vickie enjoyed fishing and painting, and her favorite time of the year was the Fair. She worked all year to submit her paintings and won over 100 ribbons: including a President's Award for her painting of Cole's Country Store. She won ribbons for her pickled okra, pickled tomatoes, and spicy pickles as well as having the best chocolate gravy, chess pie, and homemade fudge. She loved cooking for her family and friends and if you visited you had better be hungry because she would let you leave until you ate.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sons-in-law: Lancer Goss and Toney Garrett; and grandmother: Virginia Scarlett.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, September 1st, 2025, at Boma Community Center from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM with a service from Bro. Mike Owens at 4:00 PM

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.
