Bertha Powell

POWELL, Bertha Mae, 71, of Richmond, died November 10, 2009. She was a native of Emporia, Va. She was preceded in death by her son, Calvin Powell. Surviving are her son, Alvin Powell; two grandchildren, Orlando R. Powell and Anthony L. Williams; five sisters, Irene Phipps (Robert), Hattie M. Adams, Joyce Ann Lundy (Melvin), Rebecca J. Robinson (Willie) and Alma B. Irby (John); two brothers, John H. Adams (Martha) and Walter G. Adams (Mary E.); a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 17, from 6 to 7 p.m., and where funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 18, at 1 p.m. Rev. Willie R.
