Clarkson Beamon Bitzer Jr.

BITZER, Clarkson Beamon Jr., passed away quietly at home on Sunday, December 19, 2010. He was born July 14, 1932 in Grandview, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarson B. Bitzer Sr. and Harriet Helen Orr. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathleen Platt Bitzer; and son, Scott Clarkson Bitzer of Richmond, Virginia; and daughter-in-law, Cara Calder Bitzer. He had two grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Bitzer, 18, and Christopher Scott Bitzer, 16. Mr. Bitzer was a graduate of Ohio State University and was a member of Theta Beta Pi fraternity. He participated in NROTC and served in the United States Navy on the USS Randolph CVA 15. He was a member of Phinx Senior Men's honorary at OSU. He worked for General Electric Corporation from 1957-1998. He was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. There will be visitation Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Woody's Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229, and funeral services on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 12 noon at Spence Funeral Home, 650 Waterloo St. Canal, Winchester, Ohio, with reception for guests and interment at Glen Rest Memorial Gardens in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, immediately thereafter.
