LEE, Douglas Harrell, 61, of Powhatan, a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend has gone to live with the Lord. Doug retired from Bell Atlantic after 30 years of faithful service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Colston and Doris Lee. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Kathy Newton Lee; his wonderful son, Harrell Lee (Stephanie); brother, Herbert C. Lee "Cokey" (Jackie); niece, Sheri (Tim), and family. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rt. 60), Powhatan. Services will be held Wednesday, 12 noon in the May Memorial Baptist Church. Interment Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Powhatan Volunteer Rescue Squad or Quail Unlimited.

Cathy and Harrell, I was so shocked and sad to hear that Doug had died. I have been away on an extended trip and just got home on Saturday, the 21st of November. I am so sorry and wish that I had been here to come see you both. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
