Reed & family,
Today being 12/08/2010 the POETS met at the White Dog Inn for lunch, poetry, and foolishness. Jimmy Jay started our meeting with a poem which ended by saying that the meal for all the poets was paid for by Dan Holler in honor of Dee Lawson. Today we saw a lot of grown men cry. It was verytouching! Because of snow, the cowboy from Charlottesvill was unable to join us be we felt the emotion of his gesture. Keith

I always thought this was the sweetest photo. I have loved it since I was little

Oh Reed, Anna, Adrian, Uncle Dunbar, Sudy, George, Chris, Emily, and Lee,

You all are so on our hearts. We are still stunned and grieving with you in Dee's unexpected death. May the God of all Comfort pour out His comfort on you today, and in each of the days ahead.

I've always enjoyed Cousin Dee's easy, enjoyable way. Quick to smile. Welcoming and hospitable. Reading about him filled in a lot of background I did not know. What a quality man!

Captain Lawson, thank you for serving our country. Forty-two years of marriage to an exceptional lady. Two beautiful, gracious daughters. Precious grandchildren. Dee Lawson, you left behind a treasured legacy. You will be missed.

Dearest Cousins,
Words cannot express the sadness we have felt for you, our hearts share the grief of Dee's sudden passing.

I am so grateful I was able to get to know my cousin a bit better in recent years. And I will continue to treasure the time Richard and I rafted up with Dee and Reed aboard the Adrianna III. Anchored there behind the Statue of Liberty, sharing dinner and conversation was a highlight of our summer.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We are so sorry illness and snow will likely keep us from being with you at this time.
We love you,
Leslie & Richard Payne

Godspeed Dee. You're taken when the Lord is ready for you to come home, but it's way too soon for those you leave behind. To Reed, Adrian, Anna, and the rest of the family, know how highly I regarded Dee, how much I will miss him, and that you are in the thoughts and prayers of more people than you know.
