DAVIS, Elsie Walton, 80, of Tappahannock, died peacefully Saturday, December 19, 2009 at her daughter's home in Yorktown, with her daughter at her bedside. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert "Buster" Davis. She is survived by two children, Anita D. Smith and her husband, Greg, of Yorktown, and Donald "Peanut" Davis and his wife, Bonnie, of Dunnsville; five grandchildren, Ethan and Caleb Smith, Craig Davis, Wendy Chevalier, and Brian Davis; three great-grandchildren, Cameron and Chelsea Chevalier, Bryson Davis; one brother, Eugene Walton of St. Steven's Church; and three sisters, Ann Sweet of Midlothian, Frances Nuckles of Richmond, and Elizabeth Elliott of Tappahannock. She was born and raised in King and Queen County, and was a lifelong member of Smyrna Christian Church in Bruington. The family would like to thank the Surgical Radiation Oncology Office of Riverside Regional Hospital in Newport News for their kindness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, in the Marks-Bristow Funeral Home in Tappahannock, with the Reverend John Yeatts officiating. Interment will follow in Smyrna Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday (tonight) at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Smyrna Christian Church.
