It was my privilige to serve with Emyl on the Library of Virginia Foundation Board. What a fantastic and delightful person. She was very kind to me. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I will miss Emyl more deeply than our few short years of friendship can explain. We were bound by our commitment to literature, to writers, to writing, to similar values of home and family, and in our ages--born just a few months apart. There is no word in the thesaurus for the sorrow of losing a good friend just when you have found her. Farewell, sweet princess, and glitters of fairy dust guide thee to thy rest.

With Emyl at the book launch for "The Big Steal."
