Donna Marie Sexton, 59, passed away peacefully at her home on December 18, 2025 with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Gaston County on March 3, 1966 to Carolyn W. Sexton and the late Clarence “Buddy” Sexton.
Donna first and foremost was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord. She enjoyed music and shopping. Donna loved her family fiercely and her favorite thing was being a nana. Her robust laugh and joyful presence will be never be forgotten. The memories she made with her family and all those who knew and loved her will be cherished forever.
She is survived by her mother, Carolyn W. Sexton; children, Clarence “Jay” Thomas Jackson, Jr. (Carmilia), and Ashley Simmons (Kyle); step-daughter, Nichole Jackson; brother, Clarence “Robbie” Sexton; grandchildren, Levi Simmons and Koleson Simmons; and her loving aunts and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 22, 2025 from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at Gaston Memorial Park in the Garden of Honor with Pastor Steve Wright officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte (Via Health Partners) 7600 Little Ave. Charlotte, North Carolina 28226, Attn: Elizabeth Soles.
