ERNIE BROWNIE Obituary

BROWNIE, Ernie Jack, 75, of Varina, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2010. Mr. Brownie was a cabinet maker and contractor for many years. He was a member of the Capital Drag Boat Association and the NRA. He held two world records in drag boat racing. Mr. Brownie is survived by his wife, Lillian Brownie; and his son, Matthew Brownie. He is also survived by many grandchildren, as well as many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 30, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Virginia, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 31. Interment will be at Washington Memorial Park.

Lil & Matthew, Sorry to hear of your loss and will always be thankful for the opportunity Jack gave me many years ago. Even through all the blood, sweat and tears we still had a lot of fun running the boat. It was certainly the highlight of my years in drag boat racing. I still have all the pictures and look through them often.
