Kim Brownie, age 74, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 3, 1949, in Bayshore, NY, he was the son of the late James R. and Shirley C. Brownie. Kim was a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend.

From an early age, Kim believed in hard work, a value carried on by his four sons. His work ethic was known nationwide. Kim followed his grandfather and father’s footsteps, working in the house moving business. It all started in the early 1900s with his grandfather James A. Brownie, who founded James A. Brownie & Son Inc. House Movers in Patchogue, New York. With offices in New York and Florida, Kim led the way in lifting and moving structures of all shapes and sizes across the eastern United States. He leaves a legacy of unwavering dedication to his family, friends, colleagues, and the house-moving community. His legacy continues through the 4th generation.

Kim is survived and cherished by his beloved wife and best friend Jill Brownie, his children Jeremy, Jed, Jamison, and Jarett, his daughters-in-law Christina, Jackie, and Nancy, his sister Jamie, his sister-in-law Marilyn, and brother-in-law George. His grandchildren Taylor, Nina, Phoebe, Bowen, Braylee, Baylor, Jensen, and Mirra, as well as a host of other relatives and friends who will hold his memory dearly. He was preceded in death by his brother Timothy and granddaughter Kamden Rose.

Kim's life was centered around his work and his family, both of which he loved dearly. Later in life, he developed a passion for restoring a 1949 Mack truck, a project that brought him great joy and satisfaction. Kim attended several car shows on the Treasure Coast showcasing his Mack truck and even won a trophy for best car.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 28th, at The Mansion at Tuckahoe, 1707 NE Indian River Dr, Jensen Beach, FL 34957, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, and to honor Kim, donations may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice's "Little Treasures Program," 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered their support during this difficult time. "His spirit will forever guide us, his love will forever warm us, and his memory will forever live within us."
