Dear deVenoge family, I'm so sad to hear of your loss. I lost Pop last month and the hurt is right here. I've been remembering all the fun times and it seems to ease the pain. So Frank and Tom I'll remind you of this one: We were throwing snowballs at cars on the toll road, got chased by the police and ended up in your back yard. Your dad came out back and hollered "The cops have been here and I gave them all your names! You're all busted!" He had us all shaking in our boots. We went home that night worried, calling each other, waiting for the hammer to fall. It never did because he was just messing with us!

Good stuff!

God bless you all, George

Dear Mrs. DeVenoge and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Growing up next to your family in McLean was always lots of fun. I have many great memories of Mr. DeVenoge, including the year we all drove down to Florida for Christmas. Now that was lots of fun. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Stephen Aldrich

Harry was the most competitive guy I ever knew. I met him on the handball court at the Elks in Queens in the late 60's where he was known by the nickname of "Diver Dan," which he got because he would never give up on a ball and would literally dive headfirst to return a shot. When we were going to move to the Washington area, a mutual friend at the Elks reminded me that Harry lived in McLean and suggested I look him up. That's how we wound up here.
He was a great guy on and off the court and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Dear Laura and family, John and
I are very sorry for your loss.
Harry was "quite a guy". We will
always treasure the memories we
have of our time in McLean with
all the deVenoge family especially
Harry. We wish we could be with all
of you at this time but we are there
in spirit. Lots of love and hugs,

Theresa and John Donnelly

To all the De Venoge's: I am so sorry for your loss. I have a million memories from my childhood of "Uncle Harry," and all of you. He was always there, in New York, in Virginia. I remember his smile, his kindness to me, and how he shared his family and home with all the the Schwartz's. I remember how close he was to my Dad and Mom. I remember what a hard worker he was, and how I thought that all Dads were like Harry and my Dad. What a shock it was when I started my carreer as a social worker to realize how few people had Dads like mine and yours. Having your family follow mine to Virginia made the transition from New York much easier, because I felt a part of my life came south with my family! How fondly I picture those days on the lawns of our homes, in the summer, running around, catching fireflies, playing tag, with our parents lovingly nearby. And every so often Harry's voice would ring out..."LAURA!!!!" Laura, my thoughts and prayers are especially with you, and I hope you have the arms of your loving family all around you. Love, Marianne Reed
