In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Ms. Thurston was probably the kindest and most patient teacher that I have had the pleasure to meet. Even after my son graduated he would stop by her house for a visit. Her kindness made a big impression on him! She was a special person and will be missed!

For the Thurston family, please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Helen was such a wonderful person, and touched the lives of many children in Goochland county.

I know I haven't been in touch. We always wish we had remained close. Helen was a dear friend. I know she is in a better place.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4
To the Thurston Family,
I worked with Helen when she was at Byrd Elementary School. She was such a beautiful person and a joy to work with. We shall miss her. God needed another beautiful flower to add to His garden, so He called her home to be with Him. I pray that you will stay anchored in the Lord and He will see you through this trying time.
