NUCKOLS, Isabel Johnson, 95, of Rockville, Va., passed away January 13, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Clinton and Daisy Johnson, and was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Lester L. Nuckols; her sister, Louise J. Hawthorne; and nephew, Jimmy Hawthorne. Surviving are a daughter, Iris N. Nuckols (T. Glenn) of Rockville; and two sons, Lawrence B. Nuckols (Anne) of Manakin-Sabot and Glenn L. Nuckols (Gwen) of Rockville. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Penny Minor, Matthew Nuckols, Sandi Conrad, Lynn Nuckols, Paul Nuckols, Mary Trapani and Jason Nuckols; and 12 great-grandchildren, Larry and Ellis Dunn, Caitlynn and Mariah Childress, Joshua and Madison Roth, Whitney, Hannah and Ella Rose Nuckols, Seth and Landon Conrad and Taylor Trapani. She is also survived by one niece, Fae Strong of Richmond. Mrs. Nuckols was a faithful lifelong member of Berea Baptist Church and served as Sunday School teacher, W.M.U. president, and as church secretary during her lifetime. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 15, at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad Street. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, in Berea Baptist Church. Interment to follow in church cemetery. Special thanks to her caregivers, neighbors and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berea Baptist Church or the Centerville Company #3 Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad.

Iris and T. Glenn and Lawrence,
So sorry to hear of the death of Mrs. Nuckols. My mom died last July and Jean's mom died in November. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Lawrence and Anne and family Buddy and I were sad to read of your mothers passing. We remember you telling us about the Hot Air Balloon ride she wanted. She is floating now, and is in a much better place. Hope you all are well. Lawrence you and Anne come down and see us at the beach I am sure we can find you a place here, the ocean always makes us feel much better about things.

lawrence, i am so sorry to read about your mom passing, she looked like she was a happy woman and i bet a great mom. just remember, she is always with you all, in spirit, and i am sure you have very happy memories of her. i have thought about you so often, i dont live in montpieler any longer and am now a widow,all my kids are grown and live in other states, 2 of them , military. so you all take care and i will say a special for you all, linda tingen if you all have a computer my email is [email protected], and let me know how everyone is doing.
