Bubba:
Its almost Easter. Josh and I went down to the grave today and put fresh flowers down. Debbie has put up the spring wreaths and it looks so pretty there. We love having the bench there. Thought of you when Josh was going on his first Turkey hunt with Jimmy and Kevin this morning. They didn't get to shoot, but called up a few and heard more. I miss you everyday and I pray you hear me everytime I talk to you. Happy Easter, I love you so much!

Bubba,
We are on out 3rd snowstorm so far. You wouldn't have anything to do with that now would you? I wanted to write in here tonight, because I'm missing you. I remember countless times that I was stranded at a job during the snow and I knew that I could always count on you to take me home safely.
We are all doing ok. I try everyday to make it thru without tears, sometimes its very difficult. Everyone tells me that you want me to be happy, so I am trying. Thank you for my gifts...I have looked through them on a daily basis since I recieved them. Mom sure was a writer back in the day wasn't she.
I still look up in the sky at night to find your star. Josh and I picked one out and said it was yours. Please watch over us and remember always that I love you and miss you deeply!
Your Baby Sister,
Laura

To all of Johnny's family:
I have such fond memories of growing up in Providence Forge with Johnny and Debbie. We were always at each others homes, playing in the yards, making forts in the woods, and riding our bikes to "The Store". We made our way thru school together and were there for each other as we started on our different paths as young adults. My heart is heavy with sadness that Johnny had to take this journey so young. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. May God grant all of you comfort during this great loss and peace in knowing that Johnny is free from all pain and suffering.
God Bless.

Celerbrating a life well lived. These lyrics will echo in our hearts and the hearts of others for nobody sang it better,
I was born in the Southland
Twenty-some odd years ago
I ran away for the first time
When I was four years old
I'm a free born man
My home is on my back
I know every inch of highway
And every foot of back road
Every mile of railroad track
God Bless

My sincerest condolences go out to all who loved Bubba and mourn his loss… He was a husband, father, brother and friend that has left behind many who love him and will miss him always… He was a very special individual whose love of life and laughter will live on in the hearts of those who loved him for a lifetime… To my dear friend Laura—my heart goes out to you… Bubba loved you so much… It’s not often that you find a family like yours and he was so proud to call you his own. He loved his siblings so very much. He was never happier than when he was spending time with his family. Draw strength now from Bubba’s love for you. I can tell you that he adored you his whole life and was so proud of the beautiful woman you grew into… You were always his baby girl, and now is the time to draw strength from that. He would want you to remember how special you were to him… He would want you to remember him with a smile. Because you loved him, his life was even more special… And because he loved you, you can say the same… May God wrap you in His loving arms and give you comfort during this terribly difficult time… My prayers are with you all…And Bubba—…may the circle be unbroken…--Sarah

Bubba: I miss you so much! My life will never be the same again without you in it.
On the other side, the sun always shines. No minutes no hours, there's no such thing as time. Where the streets are paved with gold and you never grow old on the other side.
On the other side, everybody sings, there's miles and miles of flowers and lots of pretty things. Where the sky is a perfect blue and everything looks brand new on the other side.
Well I've never been to heaven, I didn't know what it was like, But God let me have a glimpse in my dream last night, and I could see you smiling, you were looking right at me and for the first time in a long time, on your face I saw some peace, and I knew everything was gonna be alright on the other side.
On the other side, do you ever see me cry, do you know how much I miss you wish I could have said goodbye, just one more I love you ohhh am I really getting thru on the other side.
Well I've never been to heaven, I didn't know what it was like, but God let me have a glimpse in my dream last night and I could hear you laughing and you were looking right at me and for the first time in a long time on your face I saw some peace, and I knew everything was gonna be alright, no more tears, no more sad goodbye's on the other side.
I'll see you on the other side!
Thank you for being my big brother! Please watch over me...I can't wait to be with you again!

Johnny Adams was the most original character I ever met and I loved him like a brother. He was a musician, farmer, outdoorsman, lawman and more; but above all, he was a true friend. He was genuine. Krista, Debbie, Laura and Jimmy, I pray that you will find comfort in the coming days from the love of family and friends.

Be comforted in knowing that God is with you during this difficult time and that there are friends that also share your sorrow with you. I find Psalm 121 to be very comforting during these times.

Krista, Debra, Laura Ann & Jimmy,
To help you in your time of sorrow I'd like all of you to know how fond of Johnny I was.
I knew of him through work related stories told by my husband, Andy. It wasn't until I met him in person that I learned of the warmth he truly exuded.
Johnny was always interested in my family, asking about them and how they were. It was from his heart he would ask.
I remember him picking his guitar and singing at our home and how everone adored that deep voice of his. He encouraged my son to keep playing his banjo which he does.
Johnny's kindness and gentleness will always be remembered.

Debra, Laura Ann, Jimmy & your families: My heart cries for all of you in the loss of your brother and uncle. I will keep all of you in my prayers. Please know that he is with God and let that bring you comfort in the times ahead, as well as the knowledge that he is wrapped in the arms of your Mom, Dad and Grandma and Grandpa Watkins. Johnny loved you all so much.
Debra, I will always hold dear all of the times at your house when we were young and will never hesitate to laugh when I think of the three of us riding up and down Rt. 155 in the pickup truck singing. Johnny was a wonderful person and will be missed by so many. I always say if you love well and are well loved, your time here is complete and your purpose fulfilled. Johnny is an example of that truth.
Your friend always,

Krista and family,
I will not be able to make it down for Johnny's funeral. I am needed at home with the care of my wife.
I am profoundly moved at the passing of Johnny. I truly loved that man. We had some awesome times together Johnny was one of the best I have had the pleasure to work with; he was also one of the nicest guys I have ever known. We took a shining to each other the first day we met and our friendship will be one of my fondness memories and he will always be a part of who I am. Cancer took Johnny too soon, but I will revel in the memories of the work, the bluegrass music we sang and the stuff we got into!

To the wife and family of Johnny, on behalf of the Virginia Marine Police, Special Investigative Unit, please accept of deepest sympathy.
Special Agent Johnny Adams was a great officer and so much was accomplished through his work. There were hundreds of rock-solid cases made through his efforts.
The type of work that Johnny did was very lonely and there were few pats on the back. Within our unit and the support agencies we worked with, only we knew what had been accomplished.
Johnny had great pride working side by side with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the National Marine Fisheries Service, Office of Law Enforcement. We all formed a cohesive unit and did our job beyond all expectations.
Job well done Johnny, we'll miss you greatly but forget you, we will not.
From your friends and brothers.

Krista, Debra, Laura Ann, Jimmy and my old friend Sleepy,
Please accept our deepest sympathy with the loss of Johnny. He was a great friend and an exceptional coworker.
At only 55 years of age, Johnny had 110 years worth of adventures in his life. You could write a book on Johnny and it would be a Best Seller. He accomplished so much and we were all very proud of him. And catching “bad guys”, no problem; he made it easy for us.
Krista, thanks so much for taking such good care of our buddy.
God bless you Johnny.
