John GORMLEY Obituary

GORMLEY, John Anthony Jr., age 77, of Chester, Va., passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2009. He was born in Troy, N.Y., the son of the late John A. Sr. and Mildred Kirwin Gormley. Mr. Gormley was also preceded in death by his son, Paul Gormley, and a sister, Mary Curry. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Laney Gormley; daughters, Brenda Smith, Jane Borneman, Angela Stratis, and Kimberly Bray; a sister, Kathleen Flavin; a brother, Edward Gormley; grandson, J.P. Gormley; and six granddaughters, Alexandra and Stephanie Smith, Haley and Blair Borneman, and Jessica and Sarah Bray. A memorial service and celebration of Mr. Gormley's life will take place at the Chesterfield chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Richmond Chapter, at 2788 Hydraulic Rd., Suite 4, Charlottesville, Va. 27410.
