Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch on Apr. 11, 2010.
SCHOFIELD, John "Jack" Hamilton, age 64, died April 7, 2010. Jack was a talented architect and engineer. He honorably served his country in Vietnam as a 1st Lt. in the Combat Engineering division of the Army. He loved being outdoors, reading, doing construction projects, photography and football. He was always able to enjoy the beauty of nature. More than anything, he cherished his children. He was always a supportive father and loved sharing the accomplishments of his children with others. He most recently enjoyed showing everyone pictures of his first grandchild. He will be remembered and missed by his children, Chris Schofield and Sharolyn Spruce, Sharon Schofield, Michael and Melissa Schofield. He also leaves behind a grandson, Liam Spruce Schofield whom he never met in person, but was still a proud Grandad. Also remembering Jack are his brothers, Dennis, Stanley and Wayne Schofield and their spouses; a close cousin, Joan Clayton; a niece and a nephew. A memorial service for Jack will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, at Harvest Renewal Church on W. Franklin St. in Richmond.
