Cris and family,
I was so sorry to hear of John's passing. I remember you all as a kind and caring family. And I do remember his sense of humor. May God keep you in his care.

My father was an excellent teacher. He taught me how to read. He taught me how to solder. He taught me how to build something so nothing could destroy it. He taught me how to learn. How to respect others. How to fit in. How to stand out. How to be stupid, and how to be smart. The futility of estrangement. And, the power of the acknowledgement of our shortcomings. I will never meet another person exactly like him. -ted

This is very sad news. Our hearts go out to all of you. John will be missed by us all. It doesn't seem that long ago that we would see John at the pool working to make the swim meets better. You are all in our prayers.

My sympathy and prayers are with your family. I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I can remember coming over to your house and playing with Mark in our younger years. Mr. Sheppard was always a very handy man helping us with our juvenile projects and assuring our safety. He had the best hopes in mind for both Sarah and Mark as well as all the neighborhood children. He will be truly missed on Colton Drive and my heart goes out to you.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Sheppard family. I had the pleasure of working with John on several projects for Buckingham Correctional Center. He was a true Southern Gentleman. May you find comfort in the many fond memories you share.

To Mrs. Christine & Family
My prayers goes out to you, just remember John is not suffering or in pain. God needed another Angel, so he decided it was John. John is still with you and he will continue to watch over you, but he is doing it from above.
I don't know how we got on the subject of death, but he told me that he was not worry about drying, because when he close his eyes, he won't know. I pray this is how it was doing his last days.
He was a co-worker that I will truly missed.
Mrs. Sheppard remember God has you and your children in his hand, keep on praying and he will see you though.

My prayers are with the family of John. John had such a warm and sincere spirit. Everyone that came in his presence here at work , really admired his friendliness and willing to help others become better at their job. I know that I will truly miss such a great person.

I'll miss John's ready laugh and his critique of the latest movies. I always admired his hair.
