MATTIE SHIFFLETT

SHIFFLETT, Mattie Vicars, age 70, of Chester, Virginia, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2009. She was born in Russell County, Virginia, daughter of the late Clearance H. Vicars and Flossie Weddle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Shifflett. Mrs. Shifflett was a retired analyst with C & P Telephone Company. She was a wonderful person and a loving wife and sister. Mrs. Shifflett is survived by her siblings, Fonney Broughman of Lanexa, Virginia, Fred Vicars of Hilton, Virginia, Virginia Boyer of Westminster, Maryland, Billy Vicars of Hilton and James Vicars of Richmond, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Friday, November 27, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at 4 p.m. in Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, Virginia. Flowers are welcomed or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
