Olive BRISTOW Obituary

BRISTOW, Olive Hall, 102, passed peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Born November 12, 1906 at her family home, Pegwood, located in Varina, Henrico County, Va. to John R. and Matilda Rigby Hall, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John C. Bristow; as well as her two sisters, and five brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Bristow Jordan and her husband, Ernest M. Jordan, of Richmond; and her son, Dr. David H. Bristow and his wife, Dr. Allison H. Bristow, of Golden, Colo.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She graduated from Mary Washington College and did graduate work at the University of Virginia. Before her marriage, she taught in the Henrico County School System. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church. Her passion was her manuscript, "The Bishop, the Bard, and the Man in the Moon: the unmasking of William Shakespeare." The family will hold a memorial services at Westminster Canterbury, 1600 Westbrook Avenue, Richmond at 3 p.m. Friday (today), October 23, 2009. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, 1205 West Franklin Street, Richmond, Va. 23220, or to the Employee Fund at Westminster Canterbury, 1600 Westbrook Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23227.
