Peggy Crews-Barden Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch on Apr. 11, 2010.
CREWS-BARDEN, Peggy Barden Crews, of Richmond, Virginia, 74, died Thursday evening, April 8, at St. Mary's Hospital, in Richmond, following a sudden and unexpected heart attack. Peggy is survived by her husband, L. Jeremy Crews, 75, also of Richmond; the couple resided at Wyndham, in Glen Allen. Peggy is also survived by a daughter, Teresa Barden Bragg and her husband, Chip Bragg, as well as two grandsons, Spencer, 17, and Parker, 15, all of whom reside in Richmond. Peggy is also survived by a son, Rodney Barden, his wife, Rachel, and their daughter, Anna Bella. Peggy's surviving siblings are brothers, Robert Martin and Albert Martin and a sister, Patricia Holcomb, all of whom reside in Richmond. Peggy and Jeremy were married just a few months ago, on December 29, 2009, in a private ceremony, followed by a reception at the Willow Oaks Country Club. Though their time together was short, it was filled with love and sincere devotion, each to the other. Notably, Miss Peggy was a star tennis player on the courts at The Westwood Club, where Jeremy could only watch with admiration, but together, in life, they were wonderful, and everyone applauded. We miss you, Miss Peggy. A memorial service will be held at Derbyshire Baptist Church, in Richmond on Tuesday, April 13, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Derbyshire Baptist Church, 8800 Derbyshire Rd., Richmond 23229.
