Robin Hilp Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch on Jan. 3, 2009.
HILP, Robin Ann, age 47, entered into eternal rest peacefully on December 23, 2008 after a valiant and courageous struggle with cancer. Robin was born February 15, 1961 in Houston, Texas, and was baptized at St. Paul's Houston in 1971. Robin is the daughter of Dr. Joseph and MaryJane Rosenbaum of Houston, Texas. Robin received her bachelor's in computer science and engineering from Rice University in 1984, and obtained her PMP and ITIL certifications and was employed by Keane as a senior project manager. She is survived by her husband, Michael; and her sons, Christopher and Joseph. Robin was a mentor and counselor to the homeless, was actively involved with the East Coast Animal Rescue League, and was a faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Robin's zeal for life was contagious and she will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1100 West Grace Street, on Sunday, January 4, at 2 p.m., followed by a reception in the fellowship hall. The family is requesting a donation of a teddy bear to be collected at the service which will then be donated to the Children's Hospital in Robin's memory, or a memorial to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

To Robins Family,
Today I found out about the loss of one of the most amazing, caring, and sharing persons I've ever met. I know many prayers went up on Robins behalf but I wanted to share with you all that I also continued to keep her encouraged in our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ as well. I have been emailing and leaving voice messages to Robin, unbeknowing of her going home to be with our Lord. We have truly shared some encouraging and prayerful moments and I can't express how much she will be missed. Gods Peace and Joy to you all who loved her also!

Dear Joey,
I was saddened today to hear about the loss of your mother, and Mr. Hilp, your wife.
She was always so supportive of the choral program at Manchester Middle School. I'll always remember the fun and laughter we shared with your mother at the King's Dominion Choral Festivals.

I was truly saddened to hear of Robin's passing. She was such a wonderful person. She and I met at work and she quickly became my hero. Her kind spirit, wonderful smile and phenomenal strength in all that she endured with such grace were an inspiration to me. She was special. She will be missed. I am honored to have known her.

Robin was an amazing person. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was special mostly because she was just herself, and that was more than enough.

Mike, my love to you and the boys. You will survive this time of intense grief, and I am glad you are leaning on your friends and loved ones to help you through it.
