Wenton BLEVINS

BLEVINS, Wenton Lloyd, age 71, of Chester, Va., passed away Monday, June 27, 2011. He was born in Glen Fork, W.Va., the son of the late Jesse N. and Ova Acord Blevins. Mr. Blevins was also preceded in death by his sisters, Lenora, Leola and Alma Blevins. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sue Blevins; children, Kevin Lloyd Blevins (Virginia), Lisa Blevins Gwaltney (Brian), and Brian Keith Blevins; grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Jesse and Hallie Blevins, Mason, Reed and Evin Gwaltney and Gage Blevins; sisters, Vonnie Trent, Maudie Blevins, Lova Harding (Plummer) and Alvie Graham (Rudy); brothers, Fairley Blevins (Bonnie) and Zodas Blevins (Lou); beloved mother-in-law, Ruby Mason; brothers-in-law, Sonny Mason (Faye), Larry Mason (Barbara), Mike Mason (Ruth), Freddy Mason (Pat), Jimmy Mason (Patty Duke), and David Mason (Linda); sister-in-law, Becky Chrisco (Wayne); and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. Wenton served for 10 years in the U.S. Navy and the remainder of his working career was spent at the Federal Reformatory, retiring as an operations engineer. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, and adored spending time with his grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 1, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Chesterfield chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, July 2, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with interment afterwards in the Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester.
