John Wiley Blevins, 89, went home to be with his Savior on November 19, 2025, after many health battles. John was born on March 14, 1936, in Bristol, Tennessee, to the late Joseph and Iva (Brown) Blevins. He was a devoted husband of 47 years to his wife Sharon (Routte) Blevins, and a loving father to his children Debbie (the late Joseph “Scooter”) Culbertson, Joanie (Cecil) Widner, Karen (Jimmy) Graham, Lisa (Rob) Wallace, and the late Johnny Blevins. John dearly cherished his family and is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
John spent his career of over 30 years as a tool and die maker for Delco Remy. After retiring, he ran his own remodeling company, Blevins’ Remodeling, for over 20 years. John loved fishing, landscaping, woodworking, and camping. He was a dedicated member of Solid Rock Baptist Church, where he served on the greeting team, in the music ministry, and enjoyed sharing his faith and the gospel with anyone he met. Some of his most cherished memories included both singing in church and camping with his grandkids, Kayla, Hannah, and Austin. He also loved spending Sunday afternoons cheering on the Colts with his family.
A public viewing will be held on November 24, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Solid Rock Baptist Church, located at 6509 S SR 67 in Pendleton, Indiana. Visitation will be followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Aaron Hargis officiating. John will be laid to rest at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
