William Kennedy LANE Jr.

LANE, William Kennedy Jr., of Whitestone, Va., born August 2, 1934, went to be with our Lord and Savior at the age of 76 at his home in Richmond, Va. on April 20, 2011. He was preceded in death by daughter, Julie N. Lane; father, William Kennedy Lane Sr.; mother, Ruth Neale Lane; brother, Carroll Neale Lane; and granddaughter, Kristian S. Lane. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lois W. Lane; his children, Alison L. Beigel, husband, George, LeAnne K. Lane, William K. Lane III, wife, Kristi; his stepchildren, James M. Willis and Kimberly A. Willis; and his grandchildren, Zachary G. Beigel, Jonathan L. Beigel, Karen K. Lane and William Matthew Lane. Bill was the former owner and president of Industrial Chemicals, Inc. of Richmond. He was in sales for over 50 years, beginning work at the age of 13. He enjoyed his sales career, selling anything from bottles as a child to watches, encyclopedias and ultimately a successful career in chemicals. One of his greatest joys was giving love offerings to others in need. He assisted many with their college educations. Some of his favorite charities were the Haven Shelter in Warsaw, Va., the Family Maternity Center of the Northern Neck, and St. Jude Children's Hospital. Bill had a tremendous sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. He was much beloved by his family. We will miss him dearly and know he is with his heavenly Father. Family will receive friends Friday, April 22, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Blileys-Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where a funeral service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 10 a.m. There will be a private interment at Westhampton Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Massey Cancer Center, Irvington Baptist Church Building Fund or Family Maternity Center of the Northern Neck.
