INKERMAN — Joseph L. Berti, 66, of Inkerman, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Joseph and Clara Z. Tomassetti Berti.
Joseph was a member of Corpus Christi Parish at Immaculate Conception Church, West Pittston.
He was a 1969 graduate of Wyoming Area High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy for three years.
He was a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local 524, and worked as a plumber for the union.
Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a very caring man who touched many people. A man of many talents, Joe loved to do woodworking, drawing and making models. He will be greatly missed by all those who cared for him.
Surviving are his wife of 12 years, the former Donna Laure; children Joseph and his wife Lori, of Pittston, Victor and his wife Melissa, of Dallas, and Chris, of Inkerman; grandchildren Michelle, Joseph and Jessica; a great-grandson, Alex; brother John and his wife, Sharyn, of Swoyersville; and a sister, Maria Elena and her husband, Thomas Petro, of Exeter.
Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Monday from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. in Corpus Christi Parish at Immaculate Conception Church, 605 Luzerne Ave.,West Pittston.
The Monsignor John Sempa will be celebrant, along with the Rev. Thomas Petro, nephew of Joseph.
Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Mausoleum, Wyoming.
Relatives and friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Corpus Christi Parish Social Concerns Committee, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston.

Joe, Lori and Family I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Joe was a wonderful man that I considered a friend. I remember he and I use to have long talks on our camping trips. I am sure he will be missed by all. Sending prayers for him and for all of you during this very sad time .
