DANBURY, Conn. — Henry David O'Karma Jr., born on Sept. 10, 1949, in Harrisburg, to Elizabeth and the late Henry O'Karma Sr., passed away at age 68 on Feb. 24, 2018, in Danbury, Conn.
Hank grew up in Wilkes-Barre and graduated from Coughlin High School in 1967. He attended Swarthmore College, graduated with a BA in 1971, and then forged a distinguished career as an Emmy Award-winning television director and producer.
Hank created over 200 hours of network television, including "What Every Baby Knows," with Dr. T. Berry Brazelton and "I Am Your Child," with Rob Reiner. He was a member of the Directors Guild of America.
Hank was married to Franci Sheehan of Redding, Conn.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim O'Karma, as well as his beloved dogs, Remy and Chloe.
Hank is survived by his stepdaughter, Adrienne Megna-Weber and her daughter, Edyth; sister, Judy McCaffrey; and brothers, Tad O'Karma and Chris O'Karma.
Memorial services will be private.

Hank produced a TV show which featured my daughter many years ago. Our family found him to be a true gentleman with enduring patience. I have just now found out about his passing. I want to wish his family condolences and healing from such a huge loss. Hank, your memory is a blessing.
