NANTICOKE — John S. Krupinski Jr., 83, of Nanticoke, passed away suddenly Sunday morning, Jan. 7, 2018, at his home.
Born March 1, 1934, in Glen Lyon, he was a son of the late John and Celia Gayewski Krupinski. He graduated from Newport Township High School, Class of 1952, and early in life he was employed with Benny Fanucci's Beer Distributorship, Glen Lyon. John served his country for two years with the U.S. Army's 175th Engineer Co. He was honorably discharged in November 1958 and attained the rank of SP4. Mr. Krupinski enjoyed a long career with Metropolitan Insurance Company as assistant manager and later manager in the Nanticoke and Wilkes-Barre offices for 40 years before retiring. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and life-long member of St. Adalbert's Church, Glen Lyon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Leon Krupinski.
Surviving is his devoted wife of 63 years, the former Norma Olshefski; a sister, Romaine Tullai, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; sister-in-law Charlotte Krupinski, of Wildwood, Ill.; nieces and nephews Linda Quist, Sharon Fitzpatrick, Gary Lee Krupinski, Karen Gates and John Kaminski.
A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. Louis Kaminski, his pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Glen Lyon. Viewing and period of visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
