Emil Hollock Obituary

Emil " Irish " Hollock, of Mountain Top, ended his journey on this earth on Friday afternoon, September 3, 2010, surrounded by the family he had proudly built. Born in Cementon, Pa., on July 20, 1923, he was a son of the late Catherine Miklush Hollock. He spent his life in Mountain Top, where he dedicated his life to several jobs, most proudly those with the WPA, Lehigh Valley Railroad, St. Jude's Church, and the three years he served his country with the U.S. Army in the Philippines and in New Guinea during World War II. He ended his career at RCA in Mountain Top after 25 years of service. He spent the rest of his years hunting, enjoying Polkas, working on projects around the house, and teaching his family all he could about working hard and living a good life. He was preceded in death, in addition to his mother, by his step-father, Nicholas Hollock Sr.; brothers, Francis and Joseph Hollock; and a sister, Helen Sherksnas. He is survived by his dear wife of 56 years, Dorothy Hollock; son, Ronald and wife, Michele, of Nanticoke; daughters, Gloria Hollock, and Debra and husband, Brian Price, of Mountain Top; granddaughter, Janet and husband, Rick Rowe, of Mountain Top, grandson, Ronald Hollock Jr., of Nanticoke; brothers, Raymond Hollock, of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Nicholas Hollock Jr., of Mountain Top;, sisters, Margie Brunner, of Allentown; Sophie Maurer, of Allentown; Catherine Mack, of Felton, Pa.; Ester Mayka, of Mountain Top; Mary Walko, of Allentown; Anna Blum, of Stamford, Conn., and many nieces; nephews and cousins. The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday from the McCune Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Jude's Church. Interment will follow at the Immanuel CC Cemetery, Mountain Top. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Mountain Top Area Ambulance Association would be appreciated.
