Mark Bruens Obituary

Mark L. Bruens, 61, of Milford passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Mark was born September 28, 1953 in Watseka, the son of Donald E. and Betty Gossett Bruens and he was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Catherine Bruens. 
He married Patty Knapp on December 13, 2008 at Schwer and she survives. 
Also surviving are one daughter, Melissa (Bob) Storm of Milford; two sons, Travis (Amy) Bruens of Watseka and Christopher Bruens (Brittany Beall) of Los Angeles, CA; his mother, Betty (Laverne) Hamm of Danville; three step-children, Valerie Knapp of Wellington and Travis and Brandon Knapp both of Milford; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Abigale & Andrew Storm and Trey Bruens; two step-grandchildren, Raelynn & Mack Williams; one brother, Michael (Roxanne) Bruens of Austin, TX; two nephews, Michael (Dayna) Bruens Jr. and Jason Bruens.
Mr. Bruens was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Milford.  He worked for over 39 years for Azzarelli Construction Co. which later became Kankakee Valley Construction Company.  He enjoyed NASCAR races and spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Milford.  Rev. Karl Gibbs will officiate.  Burial will be in Sugar Creek Cemetery at Stockland.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Milford and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Memorials may be made to John Hopkins Pancreatic Cancer Research Medical Institute, Milford Fire Dept. & EMS or Donor's Choice.
