Sandra Pastori Obituary

Pastori, Sandra Jean (Walker) DELMAR Sandra Jean Pastori (Walker) was born in Temple, Texas on December 1, 1943 to Ramon Von Pastori and Martha Ann (Ritch) Pastori. She passed away August 11, 2013. She and her mother moved to North Carolina to be with family while her father served over seas in World War II. In 1945, reunited with her father, the family moved to Albany. In 1946 she became a big sister with the birth of her brother, Michael. She had many fond childhood memories of summers spent in North Carolina with her mother's family and of their house on Tremont Street in Albany where they lived before moving to Font Grove Road in Slingerlands. She attended Bethlehem Central HS and graduated in 1961. She then went on to study at Hudson Valley Community College where she earned her associates degree. After graduating she worked at Albany Med. as the manager of the electron Microscopy lab. In 1974 she got married and had two children, Penny and Nathaniel. For many years she was a wonderful stay at home mom. When her children reached adolescence she re-entered the workforce and worked for a fabric designer, for a jeweler and for NYS. In May of 2009 she bought her own little brick house, something she said she had always wanted. She retired from NYS in the summer of 2009. In 2011 she became a grandmother to Ethan, and by her own choosing she became known as Grammy San. Throughout her life she was an avid reader, a talented artist, and a compulsive crafter. She was kind, she had a great sense of humor and there was a special place in her heart for animals; she was never without at least one pet. Sandy is predeceased by her parents, Ramon Pastori and Martha Pastori. She is survived by her brother, Michael (Ruth) Pastori; her children, Penelope Walker and Nathaniel Walker; her daughter-in-law, Anna Walker; her grandson, Ethan Walker and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 16 at the Community United Methodist Church of Slingerlands. Contributions in Sandy's memory may be made to the Mohawk-Hudson Humane Society in Menands, N.Y. To leave a condolence, please visit sbfuneralhome.com

Penny , Nathaniel and Mike..
I counted Sandy as one of my first " grownup" friends. Happy memories ( even her babysitting us!) and I so envied her zest for life. Sadly, our own lives grew apart, tho we would run into each other garage saling, occasionally! The Bulger - Davis family is saddened by the loss of this sweet, sweet lady.

Mke, Nate, and family,
To paraphrase Sandy's obituary: I also have many fond childhood memories of the Pastori family on Tremont Street. Sandy was a very sweet girl from a very nice family. She always seemed to be smiling. I'm saddened by her passing and convey my condolences to you all.

My dear friend Sandy and I have known each other since H.S. We have gone through many things (good and bad), but we always made it through.

I will miss her more than words can say.
To Penny, Nathaniel, Anna, Ethan, Mike Ruth, and extended family,
My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mike, and the extended family, I am so sorry to hear of Sandy's passing.

I cherish the memories of our friendship, as an older sister to our little gang, and later as a member of the fire department and beyond.

The world is a sadder place today, I will light a candle for her this morning.
