Conte Family,
I too was a classmate of Nick's at SUNY Albany and a fellow Potter Club member. I was lucky to spend some time with Nick at the football game on reunion weekend this past October. We had a good time reminiscing about the "old days". You should take pride in the many kind thoughts and rememberances expressed here. Nick was a genuine great guy. My sincere condolences.

Regretfully I only saw Nick twice in the last 25 years. During our college days Nick was always the Big Brother that had my back. I admirered Nick for his loyalty, his patience and understanding. He was a true friend. I will always remember #86, My Big Brother.

To Mr. Conte's family: I was saddened to read of his passing in the Times Union. He was one my children's guidance counselors at AHS in the mid to late '90's. I had many conversations and meetings with him. I remember being shocked when someone mentioned to me that he had health problems. He did his job he kept going and he never let on that anything may be at all difficult in his own life. I will remember him fondly and know he will come up when we reminisce about that child's high school years.

I am so sad at the passing of a genuinely great guy.
I worked with Nick for 30 years as a probation officer when Nick was an attendance teacher with the school district and then when he became a guidance counselor at AHS. I did a brief internship with Nick when I was in the school counseling graduate program.
Please take comfort in knowing that Nick was a class act with a great sense of humor and dedication to his work.
He treated everyone with dignity and was always willing to give of himself.

Nick has such a special place in my heart-from the many times he laughed at Kerry and I as we acted silly or raided the fridge for pasta to the support he showed for our performances in Albany, NYC, Cincinnati, and beyond-he was a wonderful person and always a joy to be around. Despite his struggle with illness he never complained or had a bad word to say (except when someone beat the Yankees!). One of the most genuine people I have ever met. He will be sorely missed and never forgotten. I feel blessed to have known him. -Val Williams (College classmate of Kerry's)

Dear Joey and Kerry,
I worked closely with your Dad for over 30 years. I even remember when you were each born. He was so incredibly proud of both of you. We were not only co-workers; we were good friends too. I was in awe of his courage and great attitude, even in the worst of times. Nick's was a life well lived and I will always cherish the memories.
Love and Peace,

To the Conte family,
I worked with Nick at Albany High School for many years. He was dedicated to the students he counseled. No one ever questioned his sincerity, integrity and love for AHS. We sometimes socialized after work. He always had a smile on his face. He was a kind friend and a good father. You lost a terrific dad and I lost a friend whom I admired. I will always have good memories about Nick Conte. He will not be forgotten by me or the students, co-workers and friends who came in contact with him

Nick...I will always think of you as the best coach ever...we were pretty silly back in the late 70's and you put up with all of our softball craziness. Then we decided to become white water experts...and still you didn't run off. After all of those adventures you still hadn't had enough and you married my best friend and had two amazing kids....we'll celebrate your good life through your family and friends.
With fond memories, Harriet
