Henry Larson Obituary

Larson, Henry J. (Jack) LANTANA, Fla. Henry J. (Jack) Larson, 85, passed away July 14, 2010 at Gurstenberg Hospice. Henry was born in Pittsfield, Mass. on July 1, 1925. On August 12, 1946, he married Marion (VanDerLinden) Larson who preceded him in death in December 2003. In addition, he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Barricelli and his mother, Helen Larson. He is survived by his sons, Jack D. Larson of Lantana, Fla. and Craig R. Larson (Ellen) of Niles, Mich.; two grandchildren: Eric (Janet) Larson of Misha-waka, Ind. and Tory (Tom) Carman of Rotterdam, N.Y.; two great-grandchildren, E.J. and Kailey Bashwinger of Rotterdam; also surviving are nieces, Carole (Glenn) Koblenzer, Joyce (Brian) Murphy, Laurie (Mark) Dorry, Tina VanDerLinden, Sue (Scott) Martinez, Barbara Morrison; and nephews, Gary (Phyllis) Van-DerLinden and Brian (Joanne) VanDerLinden. Henry honorably served his country in the US Marine Air Corps. He was a World War II combat veteran. Henry was a former resident of Albany and Clifton Park, N.Y., having worked for 30 years at Tobin Packing Company. After moving to Fla., he was employed by Waste Management. Henry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and RV traveling. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Atria-Meridian, Lantana, Fla. Dad was happy to call it home. Also, words cannot express the gratitude we have for Hospice of West Palm Beach for their compassionate care and kindness shown. Special thanks to Gurtenberg Hospice for Dad's care in his final days. Friends and family may visit from 11-1 on Monday, July 19 at Palms West Funeral Home in Royal Palm Beach with memorial service to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Hospice of West Palm Beach.
