William McChesney Obituary

McChesney, William J. Jr. RENSSELAERVILLE William J. McChesney Jr., 86, of Rensselaerville, died at home with family on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from complications of Parkinson's disease. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Susan Baldwin McChesney; son Peter Baldwin McChesney and wife Kristin and sons, Ted and Jay; daughter Lea Stevens McChesney and husband Chris Burnett and daughter Anne Miriam; son William J. McChesney III and wife Cynthia and children, Katie and Andrew; and his daughter Sarah Kutschkau and husband Randy and children, Amanda and Matthew MacIsaac. Jay was the son of William J. McChesney and Anne Stevens McChesney of Albany. He was a member of the class of 1946 at the Albany Academy and the class of 1950 at Yale University, where he was also a member of Zeta Psi. Jay spent 36 years at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation, more than 30 years in Pittsburgh. A memorial in Jay's honor will be held in June at the Rensselaerville Presbyterian Church. May he rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Rensselaerville Presbyterian Church, the E.N. Huyck Preserve of Rensselaerville, or the Albany Academy. The family is grateful for Jay's thoughtful care from Dr. Kevin Costello, his private nurses, and from Community Hospice of Albany County. Condolence page at ajcunninghamfh.com.

I remember Jay as a very kind, intelligent and warm person. In the days when I was moderator of Rensselaerville Presbyterian Church, Jay was a bright and faithful participant. My prayers are with you, Susan and your whole family.
