I taught with Elaine at Lourdes back in the early 70s. I could never forget her. She was so vibrant and intelligent. I admired her so. So sorry she is gone.

Dear Ognibene Family, I just read about Elaine's passing in the Siena News. She was one of the most humble and kind teachers I had the pleasure of knowing. I was petrified of public speaking, and she really helped me deal with that. Now, as an adult, I have had to address hundreds of people at our our clinic's fundraisers, and I still, to this day, think of Dr. Elaine Ognibene's public speaking class before I address the room. She was an amazing person, and as my old Sicilian grandfather used to say when someone special passed away , "Shesa gonna be missed." And, as her family, you know that better than anyone. Deepest condolences for your loss. Sincerely, Margey Lanzafame-Colbeth

Dear Ognibene Family,
When one looks in the dictionary under the word "Kind," a picture if Elaine is sure to pop up! She was a remarkable person from the day I first met her in the Bookstore, where Duck was our Faculty Advisor, at John Marshall High School, in Rochester, N.Y., so many years ago. Although I have not spoken to her in years, both John and I were thrilled to have an opportunity to speak with her, as well as Dick and Rich, while attending our high school reunion this past August. What a dynamo she has always been...and she has always been kind! Our condolences to the entire family...your loss is palpable in the hearts of many. Sending prayers,

Dr. Ognibene served as my advisor at Siena College, and it was her confidence along the way that helped me succeed. Her oral communications class was one of my favorite courses, and she always pushed all of her students to do their very best. I feel blessed to have had her wisdom and influence. May fond memories bring you comfort.

I am very sorry to hear of Elaine's passing. I only participated in one class (Oral Communication) that she taught at Siena College in 1975, but that left a lifelong impression upon me. Heaven is in for a real makeover!

I first met Elaine in, 1967 when her husband and I were doctoral students at the University of Rochester. I learned of the first of her many talents as an exceptional cook when invited to dinner at the Ognibene home. I knew Elaine was an avid scholar. Until recently I was unaware of her many accomplishments. My lasting memory is of one of the kindest persons I have ever met.
