Thomas McDonald "Tim" Scott

SCOTT Thomas "Tim" McDonald Scott, Ret. Cmdr., 87, of Gainesville, FL passed away Friday February 18, 2011 in Gainesville. Born in Lansing, Michigan, he proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He graduated from the University of Florida with a M.A.E., was then a professor of physical education with UF, and retired after 39 years of teaching. He was a huge golfer (having taught some big name professional golfers), loved handball, and was a voracious reader. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife Jeanne Ellenson; daughters Barbara Scott Johnson of Jacksonville and Debbie Scott of Gainesville; step-daughter Donna Ellenson Mikulski; step-son Mark Ellenson; grandchildren Leigh, Kelly, and Brooks; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Dolly; his parents John O. and Agnes Scott; and his brother John B. Scott. Funeral services will be held Thursday February 24, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 100 Northeast 1st Street, Gainesville, FL 32601. Interment will follow in Forest Meadows Central.
