I just found out what happened to one of the first pharmacists I ever met. One of the nicest souls. I worked with Joe for several years at Eckerd Drugs until I went off to Pharmacy school. He taught me the proper to label a bottle and to make sure every label was neatly placed!!! Miss you Joe!!!

I worked with Joe at several Eckerd and then CVS locations as both a pharmacy tech and assistant manager over the course of probably 15 years or more. It's been quite a while since I left that business, but I'll always remember Joe. He was always kind, mild-mannered, and often quiet. The best way to get Joe talking would be to ask how his daughter and later granddaughter were doing. Julie and Jessica were definitely the apples of his eye. His entire demeanor would change when he'd speak of you both. May you find peace during this most difficult of times.

I worked with Joe at Eckerd/CVS for at least 5 years. I remember his "breakfast" at least once a week was a Snickers bar and a classic Coke. I had so much fun working with him. He was happy to take my good natured ribbing from time to time too. He was suffering from an injured back at one point and I noticed he was using pharmacy labels to reach the last inch of space from his fingers to whatever he'd dropped on the floor. I started mimicking him. For whatever reason he thought it was very funny and started demanding that I continue to pick things up in that manner. I hadn't seen or talked to him for many years, but I think of him often. I'm sorry to hear of his passing.
