Cliffert F.Herring Sr. Cliffert F. Herring Sr., 91, of North Nescopec Street, Tamaqua, died Tuesday, June 2, in the St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. He was the husband of the late Nancy K. (Moyer) Herring, who died in June, 2008.He was a truck driver for the former Fauzio Brothers from 1936-80.Born in Barnesville, he was a son of the late John Edward and Clara (Hill) Herring.He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tamaqua, where he belonged to the kitchen crew and was a former sexton, and the Promised Land Community Church, Promised Land, Pa., where he served on the council.Herring belonged to the United Mine Workers and the A.A.R.P., Allentown.He loved camping and going to the cottage at Promised Land.A 1938 graduate of Tamaqua High School, he was an Army veteran of World War II.Surviving are two sons, the Rev. Clifford of Whitehall and Michael, and his wife, Becky, of Walnutport; two daughters, Jeanine and Christine, wife of Michael Soley, both of Tamaqua; a nd a grandson, Timothy Michael Soley, and his wife, Theresa, of Reamstown, Pa.The last member of his immediate family, he was also preceded in death by four brothers, George, Charles, Raymond and Wilbur; and five sisters, Mae Novack, Emma Rarick, Helen Balliet, Edna Mantz and Jennie. Service: Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6, Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, with the Rev. Dr. David Grant officiating. Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua.
