Burdell KNIPP Obituary

KNIPP Burdell Lindsey resident, Burdell Knipp, 91, died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Rutherford House, Fremont. Burdell was born on October 31, 1920 in Rice Township, Ohio to George and Lulu (Miller) Knipp. He attended Hineline and Glausser Schools, one room rural schools in Rice Township. On March 13, 1948, he married Norma Rogers at the former Trinity Evangelical U.B. Church, Lindsey. A lifelong farmer he and his wife started their family farm and together they raised two children. They provided their children the opportunity to go to college. Adele became a teacher and Daryl returned to the farm to be a partner with Burdell and Norma. The partnership grew into Knipp Farms Inc. They were active members of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lindsey and the Kingsway Happy Larks Farm Bureau Council. Norma passed February 8, 2004. Burdell always enjoyed woodworking and making things with his hands. He spent countless hours in his workshop making gifts for family and friends. His attention to detail in his craftsmanship was an example of how he lived his life. He gave his best effort in everything he did. Surviving are children, Adele (Richard) Klenk of Westerville and Daryl (Cate) Knipp of Lindsey; grandchildren, Lisa Kinkel (Paul Gelvezon), Leslie Klenk, Chad Klenk all of Westerville; Mikenzie (Deniz) Sari of Charlotte, NC, Megan Framstad of Lindsey; ten great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Karl (Eileen) Rogers of Lindsey and, sister-in-law, Nancy Rogers of Arizona. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Hubert and Carroll. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral services will be on Thursday, 11 a.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lindsey where there will be an additional hour of visitation prior to the service. Rev. Robert Metheny will officiate. Burial will be at Lindsey Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to Lindsey Trinity United Methodist Church or American Diabetes Association.
