David Lopretto Obituary

David L. Lopretto Jr., 65, of Elizabeth Township, formerly of Bethel Park and Virginia Beach, Va., died Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at UPMC McKeesport. Born Feb. 18, 1949, in McKeesport, he was a son of the late David L. Sr. and Stella (Giganti) Lopretto; and the husband of Jacquelene "Jackie" (Bentley) Lopretto, his loving wife of 46 years. David was a member of St. Patrick Church, 3rd degree Knights of Columbus, St. Benedict's Council No. 9056, McKeesport Community Life and past member and usher of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Virginia Beach. A former salesman at Bowser, Hamilton Buick and several Virginia dealerships, David's automotive sales and management career spanned 31 years. A patriotic man, he was proud to have met President Ronald Reagan, toured Washington, D.C., and volunteered at political action committees. Vacationing and exploring the United States, twice every year, with his beloved wife was his favorite pastime. In addition to Jacquelene, David is survived by sisters, Carol Lopretto, of Baldwin, Diane Nestor, of Jefferson Hills, Darla (Randy) Sarber, of Georgetown, and Denise (Bill) Whitney, of McKeesport; brothers, Donald (Denise), of Clairton, Dean "Leo", of White Oak, and Police Lt. Joseph Lopretto, of McKeesport; nieces and nephews; siblings-in-law, Maggie Bentley, Martha and Howard Heath, all of Michigan; and Abby, his companion Malapoo. David was preceded in death by stepmother, Audrey "Babe" Lopretto; brother-in-law, Monzell "Mac" Nestor; and Precious, his companion Yorkie of 14 years. Family and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at WILLIG FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION SERVICES. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Church by Father Vincent P. Velas. Memorial contributions are suggested to the church.
