Edward Hillis Obituary

Edward Martin Hillis Born April 27, 1924 in Detroit, MI, passed away in Tacoma, WA on April 21, 2011 following a lengthy illness. The family moved to Chicago in 1926, where he became and remained an avid, life long Cubs and Bears fan. Ed was employed by Weyerhaeuser in sales for over 30 years and enjoyed a long and happy retirement. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Jane, two sons, Douglas (Risa) and Kenneth, one daughter, Nancy Wight, and three granddaughters, Elizabeth and Suzanna Hillis, and Melanie Wight. One son, Robert, predeceased him. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14th at the Fircrest Presbyterian Church, 1250 Emerson (40th) Street. (253) 564-3737. Donations strongly suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.

Dear Mary Jane & Family: I am sorry to hear the news of Ed. I am glad I had the opportunity to be his friend. He was a wonderful and friendly person.
