JUDY HAESEL Obituary

Judy A. (Heather) Haesel Of Union WA, was born in Tacoma on May 18, 1946 to Leo and Kay Heather, and passed away on Feb. 17, 2011 with her family by her side. She was an exceptionally strong, compassionate and positive person, who persevered through a successful double lung transplant. Judy graduated from Wilson High School in 1964 and went on to receive degrees from Washington State University, Central Washington University, and the University of Puget Sound. Education was her passion as she spent 30 years teaching students, many with special needs, retiring from the Federal Way School District in 1991. Continuing her interest in education, she served on the Board of the Hood Canal School District for six years. Judy is survived by her husband, Wayne, of 37 years, her daughter Heather (Corey) Weider, and granddaughter Hailey of Snoqualmie; daughter Shelley (Ed) Delker, and grandchildren Desiray and Scott of Utah; and daughter Christal Haesel, and grandchildren Christopher, Andrew, Samantha, and Arianna of Tacoma. Her mother Kay survives her, as well as her sister Sharon (Ron) Christensen of University Place, and brother Hal (Pam) Heather of Tacoma. She was preceded in death by her father, and brothers Len and Fred. Many nieces and nephews survive her as well. Judy is gone but will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved her. A celebration of her life will be held on March 6, 2011 2pm, at the Liberty Theater, 116 W. Main, Puyallup. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation http://bit.ly/JudysHope or by mail to 115 NE 100th St. #350 Seattle, WA 98125, or a charity of your choice.

To Judy's family,

I was so sorry to hear of Judy's passing.
We were great friends during high school and spent many hours together doing the things girlfriends do. She was a wonderful person and friend for many years until we all went our seperate ways to college and into our later lives. We did have a good visit at the last Wilson reunion. I am currently living in Arizona and will be unable to attend her memorial however she will not be forgotten in my thoughts and prayers.
My sincere sympathy goes out to all of you.
