Loren Halverson Obituary

Loren Kenneth Halverson Loren died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 53 on May 23, 2011 from leukemia. He was born on February 17, 1958 to Betty and Edmond Halverson. At the age of three months, a severe illness resulted in profound mental retardation. He became a resident of the Kleiner Home at the age of 12; his beloved caretaker, Hildred, started work there the same week. Loren learned to ride a bike as a child. He usually had a transistor radio in one hand and a wallet in the other with a five dollar bill in it so he could buy pop. He enjoyed weekends at his parents' home, family drives, and McDonald's. He enjoyed group activities, including bowling. Loren was a loving soul and a spirited character. He was dearly loved, and his smile and hugs will be greatly missed. Loren has joined his father Edmond, and his grandma Elsie Haugen in heaven. He is survived by his mother Betty, sister Sandra (Keith), brothers Doug and Mike, nephews, Brandon and Kevin, and family fellow brothers and sisters and wonderful caretakers at his home. Loren was laid to rest at the New Tacoma Cemetery. Graveside services will be held on June 4th, 2011 at 1:00.
