Bonnie Marlene Weddle Widener FANCY GAP, Va. Bonnie Marlene Weddle Widener, 79, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, Va. She was born Sept. 21, 1931, at Martin Memorial Hospital in Mt. Airy, N.C., the only daughter of the late Rawden Weddle and Emma Hill. She was married to her devoted husband, Hubert S. "Bert" Widener, for more than 51 years. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Lisa Widener, of Fancy Gap and daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Skip Wood of Alexandria, Va. She was the proud grandma of Molly, Campbell and Branson who gave her so much love and joy. Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville, Va. Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m. at Sky View Baptist Church. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service. The burial will follow at the Webb Sky View Cemetery in Fancy Gap, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Fancy Gap Methodist Church Building Fund, 578 Old Appalachian Trail, Fancy Gap, VA 24328; or the American Cancer Society c/o Iva Easter, 1235 Beaver Dam Road, Hillsville, VA, 24343.
