Dewey Luther Combs HONAKER, Va. Mr. Dewey Luther Combs, age 59, of the Big A Mountain section, passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, at his home. Born Dec. 8, 1950, in Honaker, he was a son of the late Sam Foster and Mazie Honaker Combs. A lifelong resident of the area, he was of the Freewill Baptist faith and had served in the U.S. Army. He had been employed by Gilbert Trucking as a truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William Lloyd Combs; two sisters, Virginia Ferne Combs and Beulah Combs; and grandchild, Tyler Sword. Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Peggy Sue Combs of the home; two sons, Gary Combs and wife, Shelly of Lebanon and Allen Combs and wife, Martha of Cleveland; stepson, Sammy Dewaine Combs and wife, Melinda of Abingdon; step-daughters, Jennifer Hess and husband, Jonathan of Bristol, Linda Huffman and husband, Mike and Brenda Meade and husband, Robert, all of Lebanon; grandchildren, Garin, Hayden, Kinsley, Marcus, Nathan, Alayna, Alexis, Krayin Lucas Honaker, his son at heart, Natalie, Destiny, Chandler, Tommie, Heather, Nichole, and Madison; sisters, Nancy Taylor and husband, Bill and Edna Sue Bailey and husband, Bill, all of Lebanon, Bonnie Fleenor and husband, Charlie and Barbara Breedlove and husband, Dallas, all of Abingdon; one brother, James Samuel Combs of Abingdon; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William C. and Thelma Rasnake; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, with Rev. Donald Musick officiating. Interment will follow in Frank Smith Cemetery on Big A Mountain. Pallbearers will be Greg Rasnake, Bill Taylor, Jeff Rasnake, Mark Combs, Greg Gibson, and Robert Meade. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Fogleman, Charlie Fleenor, Mike Gilbert, Wayne Viers, Richard Hess, Keith Stevens, and Larry "Big T" Thompson. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Tuesday, where an evening service will be conducted at 7 p.m. with Rev. Roy Lee Wilson officiating.
