Donald Helbert Obituary
He was born in Russell County, Va., son of the late Lawrence Donald and Orpha Kate Jessee Helbert. He was retired from White Stone Co. after 20-plus years of service.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dora Helbert.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janice Helbert; one daughter, Regina Bellamy and husband Mark of Lebanon, Va.; four sons, Johnny Helbert and wife Cindy of Lebanon, Terry Helbert and wife Denese, Kevin Helbert and wife Jacqueline and Sam Helbert, all of Castlewood; three sisters, Goldie Townes of Castlewood, Peggy Robinson of Tennessee and Ellen Steffey of Abingdon, Va.; three brothers, Charlie Helbert of Castlewood, James Helbert of St. Paul, Va., and Oakley Helbert of Rosedale, Va.; nine grandchildren, Haylie Helbert, Gabrialle Helbert, Courtney Helbert, Dustin Helbert, Emily Bellamy, Cody Bellamy, Whitney Creech, Tiffany Helbert and Chasity Helbert; four stepgrandchildren, Lyndon Johnson, Jasmine Phillips, Ashley Jenkins and David Jenkins; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Donald Leon Helbert will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, with the Rev. Roger Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood.
Pallbearers will be Junior Finch, Stacy Culbertson, Aaron Taylor, Jeff Bellamy, Donald Townes and Danny Ray Salyers. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Riggs, Thomas Collins, Jackie Carter, Jack Mays, Jason Finch, Bear Wiles and Ben Mays.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood.
