Douglas Harley Trivett ABINGDON, Va. Douglas Harley Trivitt, 52, a well-known resident of Mendota Road, passed away on Friday, Feb. 11, 2011. He was born July 4, 1958, in Marion, Va., a son of Harley Lonzo Trivitt and Ruth Ellen Fain Trivitt. He was a graduate of John S. Battle High School and had also live in Arlington, Va. He was a former employee of Washington County Service Authority. Mr. Trivitt was an avid outdoorsman and a great lover of nature. He was a very gifted deer hunter. He was a member of Greendale Chapel. His family and many friends cherished and loved him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Lonzo Trivitt; step-father, Leon Horne; and one brother, Dale Keith Trivitt. Survivors include his loving wife, Sue Trivitt of the home; one son, Chad Trivitt of Bristol Virginia; one daughter, Holly Debusk of Abingdon; his mother, Ruth Horne of Damascus, Va.; a special grandson, Caden Douglas DeBusk; three sisters, Pam Shumate, Laura Lee and Kelly Anderson, all of Abingdon; a very special friend, Johnny Lester; several nieces and nephews; and numerous neighbors and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at the Greendale Chapel in Abingdon with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the funeral service at the church. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the Greendale Chapel Cemetery on Route 700 in Abingdon. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 10:50 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Active pallbearers will be Ray Bowman, Red Barker, Bill Keller, Butch Marlowe, Johnny Lester and Calvin Woodward. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Horne, Charlie Poole, Travis Rasnake, Joey Moore and Marty White.
