MARILYN SHOEMAKER Obituary

MARILYN FAYE SHOEMAKER Marilyn Faye Shoemaker, 92, of Richland, WA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 9, 2017. She was born Marilyn Faye Roeder on September 16, 1924 in Grand Forks, ND and raised in Thompson, ND. She received her RN after completing nurses training in Bismarck, ND sponsored by the Evangelical church at the Bismarck hospital. Throughout her career, Marilyn worked as a nurse in Bismarck, Yakima, Seattle and Bellevue. Marilyn married the love of her life Fred Edgar Shoemaker on February 4, 1961 in Seattle, WA. Together they raised their three children in Bellevue, WA. Marilyn was always an active member of her church and enjoyed baking, sewing, crocheting and painting. Marilyn is survived by her husband Fred Shoemaker; her sisters, Lois Lenz of Reynolds, ND; her twin, Evelyn Chapman of Yakima, WA; daughters Linda (and Kevin) Farmer of Kennewick, WA; Cheryl (and Jerry) Stephens of Richland, WA; grandchildren Robert Shoemaker, Lindsey Hansen, Alece Farmer and BreAhnna Stephens along with five great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by their son Daniel Mark Shoemaker. Special thanks go out to the compassionate staff at Chaplaincy Hospice Care and Home Instead Senior Care for their loving touch in her final weeks. A Celebration of Marilyn's life will be held at Meadow Springs Presbyterian Church, in Richland, WA on Sunday, May 21st, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers you may make donations in her honor to Chaplaincy Hospice Care, Richland, WA.
