Libby Sue Sheftel EAST GREENBUSH - Libby Sue Sheftel, age 69, of Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush, NY died on Tuesday evening, September 4, 2012 at the nursing home. Born in Providence, R.I., Mrs. Sheftel resided most of her life in Troy, NY. She had been the co owner of the former Sheftel Auto Glass Co. in Troy, NY. She was a member of Congregation Berith Sholom in Troy, NY. While raising her children, Libby enjoyed her role as a stay at home mom and was often seen helping the neighborhood children. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and playing cards as well as shopping at the Christmas Tree Shop and enjoyed road trips to Cape Cod with her family. She also had a love for music. After her retirement she and her family enjoyed their time at their lake house on Schroon Lake. Libby is survived by her husband and card playing partner of 50 years, Allen Peyton Sheftel. She is the devoted mother of Sandra Honsinger and her husband Scott of Troy, NY and Robert Sheftel and his wife Wendy of Troy, NY. Cherished sister of Eileen (Ray) Chase of Wynantskill, NY. Adored grandmother of Maxwell, Haley, Jeremy and Noah. Libby also leaves two nieces, Jennie Brown and Rebecca Chase. Services at the Berith Sholom Cemetery, Belle Avenue, Troy, NY (use Elmwood Hill Cemetery entrance) on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 1:30 PM. Following the service of interment, friends and relatives are invited to the Honsinger residence, 407 Moonlawn Road, Troy, NY to remember and celebrate Libby's life.
